Ford is backing football's anti-racism campaign Kick It Out by providing activities and resources for selected schools in Barking and Dagenham as well as the Havering and Newham boroughs.
Ford of Britain chairman Roelant de Waard and Kick It Out chairman Lord Ouseley will be introducing the day's events including football-related learning at the company's Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence at Dagenham on October 18 2007.
It is estimated that, just like last year about 100 youngsters will attend the event, which will encompass citizenship, diversity, sport and technology.
Gary Lewin (Arsenal & England Phsyio), Bobby Barnes (Assistant Chief Exec, PFA), some West Ham players as well as Dagenham & Redbridge players will be available to help budding players hone their football skills on penalty shoot-out games in between learning more about the Kick It Out campaign.
Ford recognises that Kick It Out is an effective campaign that uses football as a way of promoting social inclusion and encouraging young people to value diversity. Proactively Ford drives diversity, believing that equality adds value to business. |
